In an apparent effort to rally the Democrat party’s far-left base, vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris posted a video to Twitter Sunday promoting the mainstay socialist principle of “equity” over “equality.”

“So there’s a big difference between equality and equity,” Harris says in the video, arguing “equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place.”

“Equality suggests ‘Oh everyone should get the same amount.’ The problem with that, not everybody’s starting out from the same place. So if we’re all getting the same amount, but you started out back there and I started out over here — we could get the same amount, but you’re still going to be that far back behind me,” Harris continues.

“It’s about giving people the resources and the support they need so that everyone can be on equal footing and then compete on equal footing.”

The video features a cartoon of two mountain climbers, one apparently a white man and the other who appears to be black. Each is given a rope. The white man begins to climb immediately while the black man struggles to reach the rope.

The veep hopeful’s promotion of full-on socialism drew sharp criticisms from many on social media.

“Why would a vice presidential candidate seemingly endorse full-on Marxism days before a general election? Does she believe government should enforce equality of outcome for everyone? Seriously?” wrote journalist Andrew Sullivan.

Director and producer Robby Starbuck blasted Harris as a “communist.”

“I’ll save you all time, she’s a communist. They always make it look and sound pretty, fair, unthreatening and utopian but in reality it’s always ugly, unfair, full of threats and dystopian. Venezuelans & Cubans have seen this movie before and are warning you it doesn’t end well,” Starbuck wrote.

According to GovTrack, Harris was rated the most left-wing senator in 2019. Harris has strong racial views and has advocated for the Green New Deal and socialized medicine, reports Breitbart News.

Harris wasn’t the only Democrat deployed to fire up the party’s progressive base, as many fear dislike of presidential candidate Joe Biden may lead voters to stay home on election day.

On Friday, socialist leader Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) held a virtual discussion with members of the so-called “Squad,” four of the most left-wing women in Congress, to assure them that the election of Joe Biden is “not the end-all. It is the beginning” of bringing out their socialist utopia.

“We’re not giving up on our agenda,” Sanders said, adding that they will “organize our people to make sure that Biden becomes the most progressive president since FDR.”
