A book that Vice President Kamala Harris wrote in 2019 is apparently being distributed to migrant children as part of welcome packs that they are receiving at one facility. The twist is that these books are reportedly being paid for with taxpayer dollars.
“Harris’ children’s book Superheroes Are Everywhere is included in welcome packs for migrant children arriving at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, a recently converted influx facility, along with basic hygiene supplies and clothing, photographs show,” Fox News reported. “A White House official told Fox News Harris wasn’t aware of the welcome packs, and that these kinds of efforts are usually organized by members of the community.”
The report noted that the Department of Health and Human Services did not respond to requests for comments about who was paying for the books. A White House official suggested to the Washington Examiner that the effort was part of a citywide donation effort to collect books and toys for those children and that Harris had no knowledge of what was going on.
Ian Miles Cheong tweeted: “Kamala Harris isn’t at the southern border but migrant kids are receiving her children’s book as part of a welcome package.”
This news comes as Harris—who was told 31 days ago to spearhead efforts to fix Democrat President Joe Biden’s border crisis—has yet to visit the border herself or hold a news conference concerning the situation.
Second Amendment activist Kyle Kashuv, however, shared a tweet from Breaking911 that appeared to suggest the federal government was footing the bill for the books using taxpayers’ money: “Wow. Kamala is having the federal government purchase her own books.”
News broke late this week that the Biden administration is allegedly planning to significantly increase the number of migrants flooding into the US by eight hundred percent. These migrants are those who were apprehended for illegally trying to get into the country.
The move comes as Biden’s border crisis has continued to get worse, with a recent report from CNN indicating that US officials are under the assumption that they will encounter some two million migrants illegally attempting to cross into the US this year.
“The Biden administration anticipates that it will be releasing 400 migrant families into the country a day by mid-June as the influx of people encountered illegally crossing the border overwhelms its detention capacity,” the Washington Examiner reported.
“The 400 figure is eight times greater than the 50 families that Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement were releasing from its facilities each day early on in 2021. As of mid-March, Border Patrol agents were seeing 500 people arrive as part of a family group per day.”
Biden finally admitted last week that the border crisis is really a “crisis.” The remark, however, was condemned as simply confusion by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki—who stated that Biden’s stance was not the widely held belief of the Biden administration. This calls into question how well the administration is working internally.
The Biden administration announced on Friday that it was axing fines for illegal aliens who failed to leave the US, suggesting that the move to enforce immigration laws ran “counter to the agency’s best interest,” which does not appear to make much sense.
Mexico’s left-wing government reportedly believes that Biden’s policies “are stoking illegal immigration and creating business for organized crime,” according to Reuters.
